Bass Fishing Reports - April 2006
April is turning out to be an excellent month for big fish. This week we had with us the Grant McColl group from Canada and Texas. Grant MacColl and Aaron Collins had a great first day of fishing. The morning trip produced several big fish caught on chartreuse and green deep diving crank baits. They boated a 10.5, 10, 9, 3 - 8 and several others from 4 - 7 lbs. The afternoon produced an even nicer fish caught also on a deep diving crank bait weighing in at 11 lbs.
Scott and Jerry Franklin also had a great trip catching several fish between 4 - 7 lbs.
Scott and Aaron on their last outing did well on watermelon senkos fishing the cover in the Corona River catching several fish between 3 - 7 lbs. And as usual the biggest fish got away breaking Scott's 20 lb. test line.
We also had with us Russell and Tyler Sylvester from Denham Springs, LA. Russell and Tyler also had several fish from 5 - 10 lbs. Russell caught his 10 ponder also on a deep diving crank bait. Congrats to Tyler, Russells nine year old, who caught his biggest bass weighing in at 5 lbs.
The big fish continue to be concentrated on a road bed in heavy cover fishing depths of 5 - 8 ft of water.
